About Riverview Park in Mesa
Riverview Park is a premier recreation destination located in Mesa, Arizona at the northwest corner of Dobson and Rio Salado Parkway. The park underwent a major renovation as part of the Chicago Cubs' spring training facility development and now offers a variety of features for visitors of all ages.
The centerpiece of the park is an urban fishing lake, providing opportunities for anglers to cast their lines in an urban setting. Surrounding the lake are miles of accessible sidewalks, perfect for walking, jogging, or leisurely strolls.
Riverview Park boasts an extensive playground area with equipment designed for different age groups. The playground includes a 50-foot tall Genesis climbing tower and a 60-foot long caterpillar mesh rope climbing structure, offering unique and challenging play experiences for older children. For younger visitors, there are separate playground clusters designed for ages 2-5 and 6-12.
During hot Arizona days, visitors can cool off at the park's splash pad, also known as a "spray ground." This water feature includes multiple fountains and spray structures, providing a refreshing play area for children.
The park also includes open grassy areas for recreational activities, shaded picnic areas with tables, and reservable ramadas for group gatherings. Restroom facilities are available on-site for visitor convenience.
Riverview Park is connected to the wider area through the Rio Salado Pathway, a shared-use path along the Salt River Bank that links the park to other local attractions like Sloan Park (the Cubs' spring training stadium) and the Mesa Riverview shopping center.
