Rio Salado Industrial Recreation Park

Rio Salado Park, located in Phoenix, Arizona, is part of the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area. This urban oasis spans approximately 595 acres and extends five miles along the Salt River, from 28th Street to 19th Avenue. The park represents a remarkable transformation of what was once a deteriorated dumping site into a lush riparian corridor.

The restoration project aims to recreate the native wetland and riverbank habitats that were historically associated with the Salt River, which once flowed perennially through Phoenix. Since its inception, over 76,000 trees and shrubs have been planted in the area, contributing to the diverse ecosystem that now thrives there.
