About Corbell Park in Tempe
Corbell Park is an 11-acre neighborhood park located in south central Tempe, Arizona, at the intersection of Lakeshore and Chilton drives. Established on April 7, 1984, it is one of Tempe's larger neighborhood parks, offering a serene green space for local residents and visitors alike.
The park was dedicated in honor and memory of Victor Corbell, an Arizona pioneer and prominent Tempe business leader. Born into an original Arizona pioneer family on January 31, 1894, Victor Corbell made significant contributions to the community throughout his life. He served as president of the Salt River Project for 16 years, was a member of the SRP Board for nearly 35 years, and was involved in various civic affairs.
Corbell Park provides a pleasant environment for various recreational activities. Its well-maintained walking trails meander through the park, offering opportunities for leisurely strolls and peaceful picnics. The park's location, just west of S. McClintock Drive and a few minutes from the 101 Loop North, makes it easily accessible to residents and visitors.
