About Two Rivers Park in Little Rock

Two Rivers Park is a 1,000-acre public park located in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the confluence of the Arkansas River and the Little Maumelle River. The park, jointly owned by Pulaski County and the City of Little Rock, was dedicated in 2011 with the opening of the Two Rivers Bridge over the Little Maumelle River.

The park features a mix of open fields and wooded wetlands, offering visitors a chance to experience nature within an urban setting. Approximately 550 acres consist of open fields, while the remaining 450 acres are mostly wooded wetlands. This diverse landscape provides habitats for various wildlife and plant species, making it an excellent location for bird watching and nature observation.

Two Rivers Park is part of the larger Arkansas River Trail system, which connects it to other parks and trails in the area. The park's trail system includes paved and unpaved paths suitable for walking, jogging, cycling, and horseback riding. These trails offer scenic views of the surrounding rivers, forests, and even Pinnacle Mountain in the distance.

One of the park's unique features is its community garden area, where county residents can rent plots to grow their own produce. This garden space adds to the park's community-oriented atmosphere and provides an opportunity for urban agriculture.

The park also includes the state's largest inclusive playground, designed to accommodate children of all abilities. This feature makes Two Rivers Park a destination for families seeking an accessible outdoor recreational space.

For water enthusiasts, the park offers a canoe launch, providing access to both the Little Maumelle River and the Arkansas River. Fishing is also a popular activity, with anglers often catching warm water fish species such as crappie, bream, bass, and catfish.

Two Rivers Park serves as an important recreational and natural space for Little Rock residents and visitors alike, offering a blend of outdoor activities and opportunities to connect with nature in an urban environment.
