About Imperial Park in Anaheim
Imperial Park is a 7.4-acre public recreational area located on South Imperial Highway in Anaheim, California. Established in 1989, the park offers visitors stunning panoramic views of Anaheim Canyon and the distant San Gabriel Mountains, making it a scenic spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
The park features a colorful playground that was updated in February 2017. This play area is designed to encourage climbing and includes various interactive elements. Some notable playground features are a zip track, musical interactive boards, climbing walls, and arched monkey bars with climbing holds. For younger children, there's a smaller structure themed as a tractor to spark imagination.
Imperial Park provides ample space for physical activities and relaxation. A large grassy lawn adjacent to the playground offers room for games or picnics. The park also includes swings for both toddlers and older children, catering to a range of age groups.
One of the park's highlights is its very large covered picnic area, which provides shade for visitors and can be reserved for gatherings. This makes Imperial Park a suitable venue for community events and family outings.
It's worth noting that while the park offers many amenities, it lacks some facilities. There is no dedicated parking lot, though street parking is available nearby. Additionally, the park does not have restroom facilities on-site, with the nearest public restrooms located at the Canyon Hills Library across the street.
Given its elevated location, Imperial Park is particularly enjoyable in the early morning hours during summer months, allowing visitors to take advantage of cooler temperatures while enjoying the scenic vistas.
