About Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim

Yorba Regional Park is a 175-acre linear park located in Anaheim, California, along the Santa Ana River. Originally part of a Spanish land grant to Don Bernardo Yorba, the park was acquired by Orange County in 1972 and opened to the public in 1976.

The park stretches over one mile in length, offering a diverse range of recreational opportunities. It features four lakes connected by streams, providing a serene environment for visitors. The lakes and streams are popular spots for fishing, with anglers able to catch catfish, trout, bluegill, and bass. Model boat enthusiasts also enjoy using the lakes for their electric watercraft.

Yorba Regional Park is known for its extensive picnic facilities, boasting approximately 400 picnic tables and 200 barbecue stations spread throughout the grounds. Seven group picnic shelters are available for reservation, with the largest able to accommodate up to 250 people.

The park offers numerous recreational amenities, including six playgrounds catering to children of various ages. For sports enthusiasts, there are volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and two softball fields. Fitness-minded visitors can take advantage of the par course for outdoor exercise.

A network of paved trails winds through the park, ideal for walking, jogging, and casual biking. These trails connect to the Santa Ana River Trail, which extends about 20 miles southwest to Huntington Beach. Equestrians can enjoy designated horse trails along the riverside.

Yorba Regional Park is notable for its natural beauty, with mature trees providing ample shade throughout the grounds. The park's landscape offers a pleasant backdrop for activities such as kite flying, frisbee throwing, and nature walks.

For those interested in water activities, the park offers bike, paddleboat, and kayak rentals through a concession stand near the lakes.

The park is open daily, with extended hours during spring and summer. There is a parking fee, which varies depending on the day of the week and holidays.
