About Lauderbach Park in Chula Vista
Lauderbach Park is a 3.9-acre public recreational space located in Chula Vista, California. The park underwent extensive renovations and reopened on July 12, 2023, after being closed for over a year. The renovation project was made possible through a combination of funding sources, including a $1 million state parks grant and $820,000 from Measure P, a local sales tax initiative.
The park features a variety of amenities designed to cater to diverse community needs. A prominent addition is the new basketball courts, which have lines for two pickleball courts, allowing for versatile use of the space. Players interested in pickleball need to bring their own nets. The park also boasts a new synthetic turf multi-purpose field equipped with lighting, enhancing its usability during evening hours.
For younger visitors, Lauderbach Park offers two "tot lots" or playgrounds, providing safe and enjoyable play areas for children. The park's layout includes new sidewalks, enhanced landscaping, and picnic areas, making it suitable for various outdoor activities and gatherings. Restroom facilities are available on-site for visitor convenience.
Adjacent to the park is a building leased by SBCS, a local organization that provides services to the community. This addition underscores the park's role as not just a recreational space, but also a hub for community support and engagement.
Lauderbach Park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering ample opportunity for residents to enjoy its facilities throughout the day.
