Veterans Park

Veterans Park is a spacious 26-acre recreational area located in Fontana, California. Established to honor military veterans, the park offers a wide range of facilities and amenities for community use. The park is situated in Fontana, making it easily accessible to local residents and visitors.

The park features multiple sports facilities, including six ballfields that cater to baseball and softball enthusiasts. For basketball players, there are two courts available. The park also includes a playground area, providing a space for children to engage in active play.

Veterans Park offers ample picnic areas with tables and barbecue grills, making it an ideal location for family gatherings and community events. Some picnic tables are situated under gazebos, providing shade for visitors. The park administration offers picnic shelter rentals, with fees varying for residents and non-residents.

The park is not just a recreational space but also serves as a memorial to veterans. It features multiple veteran memorials, including the Veteran's Park Flagpole Memorial, which was built in 2013. This memorial expresses gratitude to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

For those looking to enjoy a leisurely walk or jog, Veterans Park offers 1.33 miles of sidewalks and trails. This network of paths takes approximately 40 minutes to complete, providing a perfect route for dog walking or a refreshing stroll.

The park is open daily, with hours from 7 AM to 10 PM Sunday through Friday, and 8 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays.

As of 2024, Veterans Park has undergone some renovations. The city has initiated a transformation project, which includes the removal of old playground equipment to make way for ADA-accessible upgrades. This project has received support from San Bernardino County and ARPA funding.
