Hyde Park

Hyde Park is a public park located in Fresno, California. The park was originally established in 1892 and was known as Chateau Fresno Park. It was part of a larger estate owned by Martin Theodore Kearney, a significant contributor to Fresno County's agricultural development.

The park is situated approximately seven miles west of downtown Fresno. It encompasses 225 acres of land, making it a substantial green space within the city. The landscape of Hyde Park was designed by Rudolph Ulrich, a noted American landscape architect from New York.

Over the years, Kearney transformed the initially flat, barren landscape into one of the most beautiful parks in the United States at the turn of the 20th century. At its peak, the park contained more species of trees, vines, shrubs, and roses than any equal area in the United States. The San Francisco Chronicle once referred to it as the "most beautiful park on the West Coast."

Today, Hyde Park continues to serve as a recreational space for Fresno residents, offering various amenities and natural beauty.
