Fremont Park

Fremont Park is a neighborhood park located in Glendale, California. Spanning approximately 7.90 acres, this public space has been a part of the community since 1922, making it nearly a century old. The park is situated in the western part of Glendale, near Hahn Avenue with Kennilworth Avenue as its cross street.

Fremont Park is undergoing an extensive renovation project that began in November 2023. The park is currently closed to the public and is expected to reopen in early 2025. This comprehensive overhaul aims to modernize and enhance the park's facilities and amenities to better serve the community.

The renovation project includes several significant improvements. A new community building is being constructed, which will house a tennis club house, meeting rooms, rentable space, and a kitchenette. The park will also feature an artificial turf soccer field, a splash pad to replace the former wading pool, picnic pavilions, and pickleball courts that will double as basketball courts.

Additional enhancements include the installation of a walking path around the park's perimeter, a tennis shade structure, and exercise equipment. The children's playground, restroom facilities, and picnic areas are being renovated or replaced. To improve accessibility, 26 new parking spaces are being added.

While Fremont Park is closed for renovation, the city has provided a temporary mini park with benches and tables in the parking area across from Fremont Park on Patterson Avenue. This temporary space allows residents to continue enjoying outdoor recreational activities in the vicinity.
