About Mary Grogan Community Park in Modesto
Mary Grogan Community Park is a 42-acre community park located in Modesto, California, adjacent to Enoch's High School. The park, which opened in July 2013, was named in honor of Mary Grogan, a longtime city parks director who passed away in 2010.
The park's primary feature is its extensive soccer complex, comprising seven illuminated fields. Three of these fields are equipped with state-of-the-art synthetic turf, while the remaining four are grass fields. This configuration allows for flexibility in field use, with most fields capable of being set up as one large field or two youth fields.
In addition to the soccer fields, the park includes a walking and jogging path that encircles the entire site, providing visitors with an opportunity for exercise and recreation. The facility also features a parking lot and restrooms to accommodate visitors.
The park's hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 2 pm to sunset, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to sunset. While one community field is typically available for casual use, organized groups or large gatherings require field rentals through the city.
Mary Grogan Community Park represents a significant addition to Modesto's recreational facilities, fulfilling a long-standing need in the community for more soccer fields and open spaces.
