About Joe Sampson Park in Rialto

Joe Sampson Park is an 8-acre public park located in Rialto, California. The park, which opened on February 23, 2019, is named after Joe Sampson Jr., a long-time Rialto resident who served as the city clerk for two decades and later as a city councilman.

The park features a 0.3-mile (0.48 km) rubber walking trail that loops around the perimeter, providing a soft surface for pedestrians and joggers. This trail is part of a larger network of sidewalks and walking paths within the park, totaling approximately 0.7 miles (1.13 km).

Joe Sampson Park includes two large playgrounds designed for different age groups. The larger playground area includes rock climbing walls, slides, a wall climber, fireman poles, rope ladders, and a unique snake swing. The smaller playground is equipped with slides, jungle gym equipment, spinning chairs, and various swings, including bucket swings for younger children.

For sports enthusiasts, the park offers two half-court basketball courts, allowing for multiple games to be played simultaneously. The park also features exercise stations along the walking path, providing opportunities for strength training and cardiovascular workouts.

To accommodate visitors, Joe Sampson Park provides several picnic areas with shelters and tables, as well as restroom facilities. The park is well-lit for evening use, with lights installed along the pathways and near the recreational areas.
