About Lane Field Park in San Diego

Lane Field Park is a 2-acre urban green space located in downtown San Diego, California, at the intersection of Broadway and Harbor Drive. The park sits on the former site of Lane Field baseball stadium, which was home to the Pacific Coast League San Diego Padres from 1936 to 1957.

Opened in late 2018, Lane Field Park pays homage to its baseball heritage while serving as a modern public space. The park incorporates elements that reference its past, including a home plate, pitcher's mound, and special lighting designating the three bases. A tribute to Padres legend Ted Williams is also featured within the park.

The park offers views of San Diego Bay and provides a relaxing outdoor area for both locals and visitors. It is part of a larger development called BRIC, which includes two adjacent hotels - the SpringHill Suites & Residence Inn San Diego Downtown/Bayfront and the InterContinental San Diego.

On weekends, Lane Field Park hosts a popular street food market featuring over 20 local vendors offering a variety of cuisines. The market also includes live music performances, adding to the park's vibrant atmosphere.
