Kelley Park

Kelley Park is a 172-acre public park located in San Jose, California, situated between Story Road and Phelan Avenue near downtown. The park offers a diverse range of attractions and facilities, making it a popular destination for both locals and visitors.

Established on land that was once part of the Lone Oak estate, Kelley Park has been a public space since 1951. The park encompasses several notable features, including Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, the Japanese Friendship Garden, and History Park. These attractions provide educational and recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages.

History Park, a significant component of Kelley Park, is an outdoor museum that recreates the ambiance of a small American town from the early 1900s. It features 32 original and reproduced historic buildings and landmarks, offering visitors a glimpse into San Jose's past. The park includes paved streets, running trolleys, and various exhibits that showcase the region's social, commercial, and agricultural history.

The Japanese Friendship Garden within Kelley Park is a tranquil space designed in the style of Okayama, Japan's Korakuen Garden. It features koi-filled ponds, traditional Japanese landscaping, and serves as a peaceful retreat for park visitors.
