Bestor Art Park

Bestor Art Park is a small neighborhood park located in San Jose, California. Situated between S 5th and S 6th Streets, this 0.7-acre green space serves as a local gathering spot for the Spartan Keyes community. The park was established in 2004 and is open from sunrise to an hour after sunset.

The park features winding pathways that meander through lush green trees, providing shade and a pleasant environment for visitors. Grassy fields offer ideal spaces for picnicking and relaxation. The park's layout includes several different picnic areas equipped with tables, allowing families and friends to enjoy outdoor meals.

One of the unique aspects of Bestor Art Park is its emphasis on artistic elements. The park includes small-scale art installations created by San Jose State University art students when the park was built. These installations are integrated into the pavement around the park, adding a creative touch to the landscape.

The park also serves as a community garden, being one of the 18 community gardens within the San Jose metropolitan area. Garden plots range in size from 10x10 to 20x30 feet and are assigned to residents on a first-come, first-served basis. Gardeners employ organic growing methods to cultivate a variety of plants, including vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers.
