Plaza Park

Plaza Park is a historic public park located in downtown Ventura, California. Established in 1869, it is Ventura's oldest city park, covering one city block bounded by Santa Clara Street, Fir Street, Thompson Boulevard, and Chestnut Street.

The park's most notable feature is a massive Moreton Bay Fig Tree (Ficus macrophylla) planted in 1874. This impressive specimen stands over 73.5 feet tall, with a branch spread of 139 feet and a root spread of 87 feet. The tree is considered one of the largest of its kind in the nation and serves as a living landmark within the park.

Plaza Park offers a mix of green spaces and recreational amenities. It features a large grassy lawn area dotted with various trees, including tall palm trees, providing ample shade and open areas for relaxation and activities.
