About Fox Run Regional Park in Colorado Springs
Fox Run Regional Park is a 417-acre recreational area located in northern El Paso County, Colorado, approximately three miles east of Interstate 25 and Baptist Road. The park offers visitors a serene environment among a thick forest of ponderosa pines, with spectacular views of Pikes Peak and the surrounding mountain backdrop.
The park features four miles of multi-use trails that wind through the Fallen Timbers area, suitable for hiking, jogging, and biking. During winter months, the park's proximity to the Palmer Divide provides opportunities for snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing.
Two small ponds, Aspen Lake and Spruce Lake, add to the park's picturesque setting. Timber Ridge provides an overlook of these lakes, offering visitors a scenic vantage point. The park also includes multi-use fields, playgrounds, and five picnic pavilions, making it a popular spot for family gatherings, social events, and community sports programs.
Fox Run Regional Park is known for hosting over 100 weddings per year, thanks to its beautiful scenery and dedicated wedding gazebo. However, as of September 2024, the Wedding Gazebo is closed for construction and redesign, including the draining and relining of Aspen Lake. This closure is expected to continue through the end of 2025.
The park is open year-round, with operating hours from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. from April to October, and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. from November to March. It's worth noting that some restroom facilities in the park are closed during the winter months (November 1 to March 31).
