About Delaney Park in Orlando
Delaney Park is one of Orlando's oldest parks, located in the historic Delaney Park neighborhood south of downtown Orlando, Florida. Originally called Duckworth Park, it was renamed Delaney Park in 1959. The park spans approximately 7.25 acres, offering a blend of natural beauty and recreational facilities.
Characterized by its large oak trees that provide ample shade, Delaney Park features a mix of open spaces and developed areas. The park's landscape includes well-maintained ball fields, playgrounds, and picnic facilities, making it a popular spot for both active recreation and relaxed outdoor enjoyment.
Delaney Park serves as a central gathering place for the surrounding community. Its brick-lined streets and proximity to residential areas contribute to its charm and accessibility. The park is conveniently located near Orlando Regional Medical Center, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Children, and Orlando's Amtrak Station, making it a green oasis in an otherwise urban setting.
While the park itself doesn't have designated parking lots, street parking is typically available on the surrounding roads. This setup helps maintain the park's integration with the neighborhood and preserves its natural aesthetics.
