Curtis L Waller Park

Waller Park is located on the west side of the Florida State Capitol complex in Tallahassee, Florida. The park was added to the Capitol grounds in 2003 as part of improvements to make the area more welcoming and accessible. It is named after Judge Curtis L. Waller of the United States Circuit Court of Appeals.

The centerpiece of Waller Park is the Florida Heritage Fountain, which features a sculpture called "Stormsong" depicting a pod of dolphins. This bronze sculpture was created by Hugh Nicholson, a Tallahassee artist. The fountain and sculpture serve as a focal point for visitors to the Capitol complex.

Waller Park provides green space and seating areas for Capitol visitors, including school groups who may use the area for outdoor lessons or lunch breaks. The park was designed to enhance the western approach to the Capitol building and create a more inviting public space.

As of 2023, parts of Waller Park were temporarily inaccessible due to ongoing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility improvement projects. These upgrades aim to make the park and surrounding Capitol grounds more inclusive and navigable for all visitors.
