McCarty Park

McCarty Park is one of seven historic parks located along Park Avenue in downtown Tallahassee, Florida. The park is situated between Leon Park to the east and Bloxham Park to the west, forming part of a linear green space that runs through the heart of the city. McCarty Park, like its neighboring parks, dates back to the early development of Tallahassee in the 19th century.

The park is named after William M. McCarty, who served as the first Secretary of the Florida Territory. It features well-maintained landscaping with mature trees providing ample shade. The park serves as a pleasant urban green space for residents and visitors to enjoy in the downtown area.

During the winter holiday season, McCarty Park transforms into "Candy Cane Lane" as part of Tallahassee's annual Winter Festival celebrations. The park is decorated with festive holiday displays and lights, creating a whimsical atmosphere for visitors to stroll through and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.
