MacFarlane Park

MacFarlane Park is a 24.7-acre public park located in the West Tampa district of Tampa, Florida. The park was established in 1908 when Hugh Macfarlane, a prominent figure in West Tampa's development, donated 40 acres of land for its creation.

The park features a 1.2-mile asphalt trail that loops around its perimeter, providing a popular route for walkers, joggers, and seniors from the nearby David Barksdale Senior Citizen Center. The trail is five feet wide and meanders through the park's landscape, offering visitors a pleasant outdoor exercise option.

MacFarlane Park is known for its scenic beauty, with lush greenery and mature trees, including Spanish moss-covered oaks and magnolias, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The park's layout includes open grassy areas suitable for picnics and casual recreation.

In addition to its natural features, the park houses various recreational facilities catering to different age groups and interests. It includes sports fields, courts for tennis and racquetball, and a playground for children. The park also contains a community center, which serves as a hub for local activities and events.
