River Tower Park

River Tower Park is a 14-acre green space located in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. The park's most prominent feature is the historic Sulphur Springs Water Tower, a 214-foot tall concrete structure built in 1927. This Gothic Revival style tower, visible from nearby Interstate 275, serves as a local landmark and focal point of the park.

The park is situated along the banks of the Hillsborough River, offering visitors scenic water views and opportunities for riverside recreation. River Tower Park connects to the larger Sulphur Springs Park via a walkway under Interstate 275, allowing for extended exploration of the area.

In recent years, the City of Tampa has invested in improvements to both the park and the water tower. The tower was cleaned, repainted, and fitted with new lighting that illuminates it at night, coordinating with the downtown Tampa skyline. These enhancements have helped to preserve the tower's historic character while making it a more prominent nighttime feature.

River Tower Park serves as a gathering space for the local community, hosting events such as the annual River Tower Festival. This festival, which began in 2019, celebrates the diversity of the Sulphur Springs and Seminole Heights communities with live music, local art, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.
