About Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park in Boise

Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park is a 5-acre site located along the Boise River Greenbelt in Riverside Park in Boise, Idaho. The park serves as a tribute to fallen firefighters and provides a space for reflection and remembrance.

The centerpiece of the park is a memorial plaza dedicated to honoring Idaho's fallen firefighters. This plaza features a life-size bronze statue created by Idaho artist Agnes Vincent "Rusty" Talbot and a memorial wall inscribed with the names of firefighters who died in the line of duty. The plaza also includes benches, flags, and lighting to illuminate the memorial wall and statue.

In addition to the memorial elements, the park offers open grassy areas and shady trees, providing a serene environment for visitors. The park's location along the Boise River Greenbelt allows easy access for pedestrians and cyclists.

The park also includes a 9/11 memorial. In 2011, the Idaho Fallen Firefighter Foundation and Boise Fire Department acquired a 10-foot beam from the World Trade Center, which was incorporated into a sculpture completed by artist J. Amber Klinsky in 2013. This addition further emphasizes the park's role in commemorating the sacrifices made by firefighters both locally and nationally.

Idaho Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park is open from sunrise to sunset, offering a peaceful setting for contemplation and honoring the memory of those who have served their communities as firefighters.
