About Platt Gardens in Boise
Platt Gardens is a scenic public park located in Boise, Idaho, situated directly in front of the historic Boise Depot. The gardens were established in 1927 by Union Pacific Railroad and named after Howard V. Platt, who was the general manager of the original Oregon Short Line Railroad at the time.
Designed by Spanish landscape architect Ricardo Espino, Platt Gardens features a winding walkway that meanders through the grounds, offering visitors a peaceful stroll with views of the surrounding area. The park is known for its beautifully manicured greenery and seasonal flower displays, which provide color and visual interest throughout the year.
One of the notable features of Platt Gardens is its koi pond, which adds a tranquil water element to the landscape.
