About Terry Day Park in Boise
Terry Day Park is a 7-acre public park located in Boise, Idaho. Established in 2006, the park was created when Patrick O. Day donated the land to the City of Boise in honor of his late wife, Terry Day.
The park features a mix of mature and newly planted trees, providing shade and greenery throughout the area. A gravel pathway winds through the park, offering visitors a pleasant route for walking or jogging. The park's layout includes open grassy areas suitable for various recreational activities and relaxation.
One of the park's notable features is its fishing pond, which provides opportunities for local anglers. The pond is stocked with fish species such as bluegill, largemouth bass, and pumpkinseed, making it a popular spot for casual fishing.
Terry Day Park also includes facilities for sports enthusiasts. There are tennis courts available for public use, which have been adapted to accommodate pickleball players as well. These dual-use courts offer versatility for different types of racquet sports.
In June 2018, the park added a pollinator garden near the Overland Road parking lot. This garden, created in collaboration with the Golden Eagle Audubon Society and FarWest Landscape and Garden Center, features flowering plants designed to attract various pollinator species. An insect hotel and interpretive sign complement the garden, providing educational value to visitors.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset, offering a tranquil space for Boise residents to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the day.
