About Maple Grove Park in Nampa

Lakeview Maple Grove Park, commonly referred to as Lakeview Park, is the oldest and one of the most picturesque parks in Nampa, Idaho. Spanning over 44 acres, the park is noted for its scenic beauty, mature trees, and a range of amenities that cater to visitors of all ages. It is conveniently located near the entrance to Nampa from the Garrity exit, making it easily accessible for the community and tourists alike.

Historically, the land was homesteaded by Orson F. Persons in 1888, and it once featured a man-made lake called Lake Ethel. This lake was originally constructed to store irrigation water but later became a popular site for swimming and fishing. Although the lake no longer exists, the park’s rich history continues to be a point of interest for its visitors.

Lakeview Maple Grove Park offers a wealth of facilities and activities. Its expansive open areas and picnic shelters, which can be reserved for gatherings, make it an ideal spot for community events and private celebrations. The rose garden adds a touch of elegance, often serving as a venue for weddings. Additionally, the amphitheater hosts outdoor concerts and plays, contributing to the park's role as a cultural hub.

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy facilities such as the Les Goodman Baseball Field, Creech’s Court basketball facility, sand volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. There is also a playground for children, an outdoor fitness gym, and StoryWalk—a feature that encourages reading while exploring the park. For nature lovers, the duck pond offers a serene setting for feeding ducks or simply relaxing. Visitors can also cool off in the Lakeview Water Park within the premises, which includes a beach entry, water spray features, and a two-story slide.

Overall, Lakeview Maple Grove Park combines historical charm, natural beauty, and diverse amenities to provide a welcoming environment for recreation, leisure, and community engagement.
