Kreager Park is a substantial recreational area located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, spanning 218.75 acres. Originally known as the Seyfert Farm property, it was purchased in 1967 and has since undergone significant development and expansion. The park, named after Gale Kreager following a $5 million donation, offers a diverse range of facilities and activities for visitors of all ages.
One of the park's notable features is Taylor's Dream: Boundless Playground, which opened in 2011. This award-winning accessible playground includes a splash pad and is designed with three circular pods and activity areas on changing elevations, connected by accessible ramps. The playground aims to provide therapeutic and learning opportunities for children of all abilities.
Kreager Park is surrounded by open fields and forested areas, making it an ideal location for various outdoor activities. The park includes a loop section of the Rivergreenway trail, measuring 0.95 miles, which connects to the east end of the greenway along the Maumee River and extends into New Haven.
For sports enthusiasts, the park offers multiple facilities including lighted softball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts. The soccer fields are equipped with state-of-the-art athletic lighting.
