About Time Check Park in Cedar Rapids
Time Check Park is a community park located in the northwest quadrant of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The park is situated in the 5th Street NW area, in an area historically known as the Time Check neighborhood.
This park has played an important role in the local community, serving as a gathering place and recreational area for residents. In 2008, Time Check Park, along with much of the surrounding neighborhood, was severely impacted by major flooding of the Cedar River. Following the flood, efforts were made to restore and improve the park as part of the city's flood recovery initiatives.
Time Check Park provides open green spaces for relaxation and informal activities. The park offers views of the nearby Cedar River and connects to the city's trail system, allowing visitors to walk or bike along the riverfront. As a neighborhood park, it serves as an outdoor space for local residents to enjoy nature and outdoor recreation close to home.
The park is maintained by the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department as part of the city's network of public parks and green spaces. While not as large or feature-rich as some of Cedar Rapids' destination parks, Time Check Park fulfills an important function as a local neighborhood park and green space in the Time Check area.
