Huston Ridge Park is a neighborhood park located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The park is named after the Huston family, who were among the first settlers in Dallas County. James B. Huston, the patriarch of the family, established a home that served multiple purposes, including a stagecoach station, tavern, post office, and a stop on the Underground Railroad.
The park spans 2.43 acres and was acquired by the city over a five-year period from 2007 to 2012. It is situated near the Huston Cemetery, which lies less than half a mile southwest of the park, just northeast of Mills Civic Parkway.
Huston Ridge Park offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages. It features play equipment with separate sections designed for children aged 2-5 and 5-12 years old.
