Valley View Park

Valley View Park is an 80-acre community park located in West Des Moines, Iowa, near Jordan Creek Mall. The park is being developed in phases to offer a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. As one of the largest community parks in West Des Moines, Valley View Park aims to balance environmental health with human activity through its design and features.

The park's development prioritizes existing and restored ecological features of the land. It incorporates restored native plantings and ecological stormwater management systems, serving as a model for sustainable land development while meeting the recreation needs of the community.

Valley View Park is home to the Valley View Aquatic Center, which features a leisure pool with spray toys, a lazy river, water slides, and a 25-yard competitive pool with diving boards and drop slides. The aquatic center is located at the corner of 81st Street and Bridgewood Boulevard, approximately half a mile west of Jordan Creek Town Center.

In addition to the aquatic center, the park offers various sports facilities and recreational amenities. These include basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, sand volleyball courts, and a cricket pitch. The park also features large open playfields with backstops, suitable for activities such as soccer.

Valley View Park continues to evolve, with new amenities being added as part of the city's ongoing development plan. The park's design incorporates natural berms and plantings around certain facilities, such as the basketball courts, to enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the space.
