Cherokee Park

Cherokee Park is a 3.5-acre neighborhood park located in Overland Park, Kansas. The park serves as a recreational space between the Glenwood Estates and Cherokee Hills neighborhoods.

The park provides a variety of outdoor amenities for local residents and visitors. It features a playground area for children, complete with swings, offering a safe space for young ones to play and exercise. For sports enthusiasts, there is a basketball court available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no fee required for use.

Cherokee Park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy its facilities throughout the day. The park's location makes it easily accessible to nearby residential areas, promoting community engagement and outdoor activities.

In 2023, the City of Overland Park completed a trail project connecting Cherokee Park to Meadowbrook Park via a 10-foot-wide trail along 91st Street. This addition not only provides a pedestrian link between the two parks but also offers safe access from adjacent neighborhoods to the Metcalf Avenue retail area.
