Tyler Park

Tyler Park, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a historic public park within the Highlands neighborhood. Established in 1906 and designed by the famed Olmsted Brothers landscape firm, it encompasses 13 acres of both recreational spaces and natural features. The park serves as a vibrant community hub and showcases elements of its original master plan, such as an oval lawn and trail paths, alongside modern additions like playgrounds and sports facilities.

A defining feature of Tyler Park is the iconic 1904 stone bridge that spans Baxter Avenue, allowing pedestrians to move safely between sections of the park via an arched tunnel. The park's terrain is characterized by its division caused by the roadway, with more active recreation facilities situated on the eastern side and quieter, passive spaces on the western side. Notably, the park underwent significant renovations between 2018 and 2020, which included updates to tennis courts, a modernized playground, improved lighting, ADA-accessible ramps, and new public restrooms.
