Willow Park

Willow Park is a quaint, community-oriented green space located in Louisville, Kentucky, within the historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood near Cherokee Road. Established in 1905, the park initially served as part of a natural border for the larger Cherokee Park before developing its own identity when Willow Avenue was extended to Cherokee Parkway in 1946. Though modest in size, at just 1.37 acres, Willow Park is an important gathering space for local residents.

Surrounded by the historic charm of Cherokee Triangle, the park is frequently used for community events, such as the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair and the Sunday Summer Concert Series. Its design reflects influences from the Olmsted Parks system, known for integrating green spaces harmoniously into urban settings. Recent renovations have enhanced the park's pathways, replaced some historic limestone curbing, and added more green spaces to its open lawns. A small pavilion and a playground make the park particularly family-friendly, providing a welcoming environment for children and adults alike.
