BREC Jefferson Highway Park

Jefferson Highway Park is a neighborhood park located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The park underwent significant renovation as part of the Imagine Your Parks strategic plan, with construction completed at the end of 2016. This redevelopment transformed the park, adding new features to appeal to a variety of interests.

The park spans 5.0 acres and includes both outdoor recreational facilities and an indoor recreation center. Two of the original asphalt tennis courts were converted into two new sand volleyball courts, complete with a foot-washing station and bleachers for spectators. A new outdoor event and play space was constructed, featuring a reception plaza, architectural lighting, landscaping, and seating areas.

One of the key additions to the park was a new playground, providing a space for children to play and explore. The existing Recreation Center underwent extensive renovation, now including new program spaces and a large event space suitable for various gatherings such as weddings, receptions, conferences, and community events.

Jefferson Highway Park offers a mix of active and passive recreational opportunities. The park includes basketball courts, tennis courts, and a walking track for those seeking physical activity.
