Caddo Common Park, also referred to as "The Common," is a vibrant creative greenspace located at 869 Texas Avenue at the heart of Shreveport Common in Shreveport, Louisiana. Spanning over one acre, the park represents a significant accomplishment in urban revitalization through a creative placemaking vision aimed at transforming a historically blighted area into a thriving cultural hub. This transformation turned nine parcels of neglected land into an active urban park that serves as an inclusive community space.
The park's design emphasizes both natural beauty and functionality. Among its standout features are tree-lined walking trails, which provide a serene environment for relaxation and exercise. Additionally, a performance pavilion acts as an open-air venue for live performances and community events. Adjacent to the performance area is the Art Bosque Food Truck Court, adorned with unique "Artistrees" that are solar-powered and LED-lit, blending sustainable technology with artistic expression. Moreover, the park incorporates a thoughtfully designed bioswale to manage stormwater sustainably, contributing to its eco-friendly landscape.
