About Logan Field in Worcester
Logan Field is an 11.2-acre park located at 539 Mill Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. The park was purchased in 1928 from the trustees of the Speedway Glens and named after James Logan, who served as Mayor of Worcester for four years and was a pioneer in the playground movement.
One of the key features of Logan Field is the Babe Ruth baseball field, constructed in 2000 and named after Marshall I. Silverman. Mr. Silverman, a lifelong resident of Worcester, dedicated 32 years to youth baseball, including coaching Jesse Burkett Little League and managing the West Side Babe Ruth League.
The park serves as the starting point for the Blue Square Trail, which leads to God's Acre and Tetasset Ridge, offering opportunities for hiking and nature exploration. In addition to its sporting facilities, Logan Field provides access to outdoor recreational activities and green spaces for the local community.
Logan Field is situated in District 5 of Worcester and, while it does not have dedicated parking lots, it offers a variety of amenities for visitors to enjoy.
