The park dates back to 1909 when it was purchased for merely $1, thanks to contributions by Clara W. Coit, Edward W. Haines, Clark H. Gleason, and Robert H. Coit. Originally designed as part of the Coit School's playground, it evolved over the years into a public space, including updates as part of the Park Schools Agreement in the 1950s.
Coit Park features facilities for both active sports and casual leisure. Its amenities include a basketball court, a ball diamond, and a playground equipped with monkey bars, providing fun and exercise for children.
