About Lakewood Greenway in Kansas City
Lakewood Greenway is a public park located in Kansas City, Missouri. The park spans approximately 9.27 acres and is situated near Northeast 46th Street and North Norton Avenue. It is part of the Kansas City Parks & Recreation system.
The park features several lakes that are periodically stocked with fish by the Missouri Department of Conservation, making it a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. These lakes are part of a larger system known as the Lakewood Greenway Lakes.
Lakewood Greenway also includes a multi-use trail system. A 10-foot wide trail runs underneath the I-35 Bridge, connecting to other parts of the Lakewood Greenway Trail network. This trail system provides opportunities for walking, jogging, and cycling through the park's natural surroundings.
The park is open daily from 5:00 AM until midnight, allowing visitors to enjoy the greenspace throughout the day and into the evening hours. Its location in the northern part of Kansas City places it within the city's District 1 for park administration purposes.
