Platte Purchase Park

Platte Purchase Park, located in Kansas City, Missouri, is a 140-acre recreational space managed by Kansas City Parks & Recreation. The park was developed in collaboration with Platte County and opened in 2001, transforming acres of farmland into a hub for both active and passive recreation.

One of the park's standout features is its expansive sports complex, which includes nine baseball/softball fields, four of which are part of a quad system complete with concession facilities. The park also boasts a state-of-the-art playground featuring innovative equipment such as the Spinner Bowl, Speeder, Supernova, Dorado, and Circuit, catering to children of all ages. Adjacent to the playground is a spacious picnic shelter, available for rent, making it an ideal spot for gatherings and relaxation.

For those seeking quieter activities, Platte Purchase Park offers a one-mile paved walking trail that is ADA-accessible, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely stroll or a refreshing run amidst scenic surroundings. The park provides ample parking, including 260 spaces, with 12 located near the shelter. The park is easily accessible, situated just north of Highway 152 off Platte Purchase Drive, and operates from dawn to dusk, inviting visitors to make the most of its offerings during daylight hours.
