About Amend Park in Billings
Amend Park is a 60-acre multi-use recreational complex located in Billings, Montana. Primarily serving as a soccer facility for the Billings area, the park offers a variety of open spaces and amenities for public use. The park is situated at the corner of King Avenue and Nimitz Drive in the southwest part of the city.
Managed by the Amend Park Development Council in partnership with the City of Billings Parks, Recreation & Public Lands Department, Amend Park provides essential recreational space for both organized sports and casual community use. The park features multiple soccer fields, making it the largest soccer complex in Billings. These fields host various events throughout the year, including local league games, tournaments, and high school sports practices and competitions.
In addition to soccer, Amend Park accommodates other sports and activities. The park includes a cross-country track, which has been used for hosting both local and regional cross-country championships. The open spaces within the park also allow for activities such as ultimate frisbee and lacrosse.
Amend Park is utilized extensively from March through November for a wide range of events. These include recreational and competitive youth soccer seasons, adult soccer leagues, soccer tournaments, lacrosse games, and various camps and clinics. The park also serves as a venue for larger community events like the Big Sky State Games.
As part of its community focus, Amend Park includes a community garden, which is open to the public. This garden provides an opportunity for local residents to grow their own fresh produce, particularly beneficial as the south side of Billings is considered a food desert.
