About Stransky Park in Lincoln

Stransky Park is a neighborhood park located in Lincoln, Nebraska near the intersection of South 17th Street and Harrison Avenue. The park was created through a generous donation from retired grocer Leonard Stransky and his wife Angeleen in 1994, with the intention of developing a small but picturesque green space for the community.

Officially opened in 2003, Stransky Park features several attractive elements that make it a popular spot for local residents. A central focal point is the natural-style stone waterfall and fountain, which adds a serene ambiance to the park. The park also includes landscaped areas with trees and plantings, providing shade and visual appeal.

For families with young children, Stransky Park offers a small playground area with equipment suitable for toddlers. The park's gazebo provides a shaded seating area and is sometimes used for small gatherings or events. Decorative iron fencing and brick columns surround the perimeter, giving the park a defined and charming boundary.

Stransky Park has become known in the community as the venue for a popular summer concert series, attracting visitors to enjoy music in the pleasant outdoor setting. Its compact size and thoughtful design make it a welcoming green space within the Irving neighborhood of Lincoln.
