About North Valleys Regional Park in Reno
North Valleys Regional Park is a 155-acre public park located in the community of Stead, north of Reno, Nevada. The park offers a panoramic view of high desert open space, providing visitors with a unique landscape to explore and enjoy.
At the heart of the park is the North Valleys Community Center, a large facility that serves as a hub for various community activities and events. Adjacent to the community center is the North Valleys Water Splash Park, an aviation-themed water play area that has become a popular attraction, especially during the summer months. This splash park features more than 20 different water features and over 60 spray heads, providing a fun and refreshing experience for visitors of all ages.
The park boasts extensive sports facilities, including regulation and youth soccer fields, volleyball courts, and a youth baseball field. These fields are available for permitted use, making the park a center for local sports activities. For those interested in more extreme sports, the park also includes a skateboard park.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the park's multi-use trails, which include 3 miles of progressive stacked-loop mountain bike trails. These trails, along with the park's 160 acres of open space, provide ample opportunities for hiking, biking, and nature observation.
For families and groups, North Valleys Regional Park offers children's playground areas and picnic facilities, including reservable picnic pavilions. These amenities make the park an ideal location for family outings, community gatherings, and social events.
The park is not just a recreational space but also serves an environmental purpose. It features a 1.5 million gallon holding pond that stores effluent water from the Reno-Stead water reclamation facility, which is used for irrigation within the park.
