About Billings Park in Syracuse

Billings Park is a small urban park located in downtown Syracuse, New York. Comprising 0.316 acres, the park is situated at the intersection of South Salina Street, South Warren Street, and East Adams Street.

Formerly known as Warren Park, Billings Park was dedicated in 1867 after local businessman Roger Billings played a key role in improving the previously unkempt plot of land. The park was landscaped and a fountain was installed in its center, along with walkways throughout.

Today, Billings Park serves as a memorial space, featuring two significant monuments. At the southern end of the park stands a statue of a Spanish-American War soldier, dedicated on Memorial Day in 1924 to honor those who died in that conflict. The northern end of the park contains the Rock of the Marne Monument, a World War I memorial dedicated on July 15, 1920. This monument consists of a stone base engraved with names of the fallen, topped by the figure of an infantryman.

Despite its small size, Billings Park provides a quiet respite in the heart of Syracuse's downtown area, offering bench seating along concrete pathways for visitors to relax and reflect.
