Annie L. Jones Park is a popular recreational area located in Cary, North Carolina. The park features the trailhead for the Annie Jones Greenway, which provides opportunities for walking, biking, jogging, and strolling. The west branch of the greenway runs from McCloud Court through Annie Jones Park and across Tarbert Drive, ending at the east branch a few hundred feet from SW Cary Parkway.
The park offers a variety of sports facilities, including six lighted tennis courts, one lighted baseball/softball field, and two basketball slabs. These facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis unless reserved. For tennis court inquiries, visitors can contact the Cary Tennis Park.
Annie L. Jones Park also includes a playground for children and picnic tables for families and groups to enjoy outdoor meals. Restroom facilities are available on-site for visitors' convenience. The park provides trailhead parking for those accessing the Annie Jones Greenway.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset. In lighted areas where visitors are participating in approved extended use activities, hours are extended until 30 minutes after the completion of the activity or 11 p.m., whichever comes first.
Annie L. Jones Park is named after Annie Lee Jones (1922-1989), who served as town clerk, finance director, treasurer, and tax collector for the Town of Cary from 1954 to 1981. The park was officially named in her honor in 1979, recognizing her significant contributions to the community.
