Sherwood Park

Sherwood Park is a 15.1 acre public park located in East Central Durham, North Carolina. The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and amenities for visitors to enjoy.

The park features both athletic and playground areas. For sports enthusiasts, there are baseball and softball fields suitable for adult play, as well as a basketball court. A futsal court is also available for those interested in this variant of soccer played on a hard surface.

Families with children can take advantage of the fenced-in playground area, which includes equipment suitable for ages 2-12. The playground offers both standard swings and toddler bucket swings, providing options for children of different ages.

For visitors' convenience, Sherwood Park includes restroom facilities and a water fountain. The park also contributes to Durham's public art scene, featuring a mural by local artist William Dove. Completed in September 2018, this mural is part of the Neighborhood Park Mural Project, which aims to celebrate the culture and history of Durham's neighborhoods through public art installations.
