Edgemont Park is located in East Central Durham, North Carolina. The park features a playground designed for children ages 5-12, providing a safe and enjoyable space for younger visitors.
One of the park's notable features is its outdoor fitness equipment, which caters to adult and teen visitors. This equipment includes stationary strength-building apparatus such as a sit-up bench, pull-up bars, push-up bars, a lift station, and two core-building platforms. For those seeking cardiovascular exercise, the park also offers a recumbent bicycle and a cross-country ski machine.

Historically, Edgemont Park is situated in an area that was once part of the Edgemont community, founded in the early 20th century by Julian Carr. The community was originally built to house workers from the Golden Belt Manufacturing Company and Durham Hosiery Mills. The park itself came into existence in the early 1980s, replacing a community center that had stood at the site since 1943.
