Hanes Park is a 47-acre public park located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Established in 1919 through a land donation by P.H. Hanes Sr., the park was created to benefit and provide recreational space for the citizens of Winston-Salem.
Situated across from Reynolds High School and Wiley Magnet School, Hanes Park serves as a central green space in the city. The park features a variety of sports facilities and recreational areas, making it a popular destination for both organized athletics and casual outdoor activities.
One of the park's notable features is its extensive tennis complex. The Joe White Tennis Center, located within Hanes Park, boasts 20 tennis courts, including 6 hard courts and 14 clay courts. This makes it the largest outdoor tennis facility in Winston-Salem, with all courts equipped with lighting for evening play.
In addition to tennis, the park offers facilities for various other sports and activities. It includes baseball diamonds, open fields suitable for soccer and other field sports, and a quarter-mile track for running and walking. The park also provides a playground area for children, enhancing its appeal as a family-friendly destination.
