Woodland Mound is a 1,066-acre park located in the southeast corner of Hamilton County, Ohio, near Cincinnati. The park offers stunning views of the Ohio River Valley, particularly from the Breezy Point Pavilion. It is part of the Great Parks of Hamilton County system.
The park features a variety of trails for visitors to explore. These include a 1.2-mile paved shared-use trail, a 1-mile fitness trail, and two nature trails - the 0.7-mile Hedgeapple Trail and the 0.8-mile Seasongood Trail. These trails wind through second-growth wooded areas, providing opportunities to observe local flora and fauna, including various bird species and native wildflowers.
Woodland Mound is home to the Seasongood Nature Center, which houses wildlife exhibits and offers nature programs for visitors. The center includes an outdoor observation deck and a wild bird viewing area, enhancing the park's educational offerings.
For recreation, the park boasts an 18-hole disc golf course and Parky's Wetland Adventure, a wet playground popular with families during warmer months. The playground features a 16-foot tree with two waterslides, as well as various water play elements themed around wetland creatures.
The park also provides access to the Ohio River via a boat launch ramp, allowing visitors to engage in water-based activities. Picnic areas and shelters are available throughout the park for gatherings and outdoor meals.
Woodland Mound is open daily from dawn to dusk, offering year-round opportunities for outdoor recreation and nature appreciation in the Cincinnati area.
