Duranceau Park

Duranceau Park is a 17.669-acre community park located in the West Scioto area of Columbus, Ohio. Situated along the banks of the Scioto River, this park offers visitors a serene and picturesque setting for outdoor activities. The park borders the McKnight Outdoor Education Center, providing additional natural spaces for exploration.

Duranceau Park features open green spaces and wooded areas, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and families alike. The park's location along the Griggs Reservoir provides scenic views of the water, enhancing its tranquil atmosphere.

One of the park's notable features is an open-air shelter available for public use. This shelter, known as Shelter #6, is part of the Griggs Reservoir Park system and can be reserved for events from April through October. During the off-season (November through March), the shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

While the park could benefit from some updates and improved signage, it continues to serve as a valuable recreational space for the local community. Its combination of natural beauty and basic amenities makes it a popular destination for various outdoor activities, from casual walks to family picnics.
