John W Galbreath Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park is a 4.66-acre urban green space located in downtown Columbus, Ohio at 233 Civic Center Drive. The park was originally dedicated in 1976 to commemorate the United States' bicentennial celebration and was later rededicated in 1990 to honor John W. Galbreath, an Ohio philanthropist and businessman.

The park serves as a focal point along the Scioto Mile, a collection of parks and trails along the Scioto River. Its location offers visitors scenic views of the downtown Columbus skyline and the river. The park's design incorporates both natural elements and modern features to create a versatile public space.

One of the park's most prominent features is the Scioto Mile Fountain, a large interactive water feature that spans 15,000 square feet. The fountain includes a circular center blossom that can shoot water up to 75 feet in the air, surrounded by five stainless-steel halo structures with fog nozzles. The fountain operates daily during warmer months, providing a popular attraction for visitors of all ages.

Bicentennial Park also includes a permanent performance pavilion that hosts various cultural events throughout the year, including concerts, dance performances, and theatrical productions. This stage, sponsored by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, enhances the park's role as a venue for arts and entertainment in the city.

Adjacent to the park is Milestone 229, a glass-enclosed restaurant featuring a covered outdoor dining terrace. While not strictly part of the park, it complements the space by offering dining options with views of the park and river.
